The world of an artist? I cannot say I have been in it for very long. To give you a little bit of background about myself, I grew up in Burlington, Vermont playing sports and singing in musicals. I loved skating free around ice rinks, hiking to the top peaks of mountains and sitting down to jam out with my friends. I rarely find myself sitting still for a long period of time, so my life as an artist has yet to really start. For years now, I have found myself more present in the auditory art world than in the visual one. When I do find myself in the visual art world, it is through doodles in my notes accompanied by photographs of nature and my friends. I love visual art almost as much as I love musical art. I am fascinated by art in museums, as I am always wanting to put myself in the artist’s shoes or feel the emotions within the picture.

Some moments I find myself trying to be an artist. Other than a painting of a giraffe, I have yet to create much art. I love taking pictures of landscapes and of people in my life, but I would hardly consider taking a couple iPhone pictures art. I live in the moment, which I think is portrayed by my photographs. Much like taking this class, I enjoy reaching out of my comfort zone and trying new things, even if I am not great at them. I think that can also be seen through my photographs and will be seen through the art I create during this class. Although I may not be an artist yet, I am ready to explore the world of art.
