I saw a video once of beauty change through time. At one point in time it was seen as wealth to have curves. At another point a models body, skinny and tall type was preferred. And now? well everything is.
Times change, bodies change, values and ideals change, mine sets change. This video, seen as a young girl, helped me step outside of the societal beauty box.
i was always seen as too tall, too skinny, too lanky. By my family, my friends, my doctors, even complete strangers would cast their opinion. You can imagine the names that were produced and called to me from it. Yet, here i am. Still too tall, too skinny, too lanky.
Time has changed. The "in" body type has changed, as it will continue to. I, however, have not changed. Nor will i change. .
