Sophomore year of HS, my parents got divorced. 50% of parents now-a-days do - but still the feeling of loneliness takes over. Even with siblings and friends surrounding, your world is changing and that alone isolates you.
So I called my grandparents. They said what they do in times of stress "Just look to the moon, we'll be looking too, and then you'll never be alone". The phone call ended with "we love you to the moon and back".
When I accepted my spot at CU, i was planning on moving 1,899 miles away from home. With no known friends in the state of CO, i felt alone again.
tired of waiting for the night to be close to those i was far from and the moon arrived, i put it on my leg. Now no matter the distance between or the time of day, I have my people and the moon. Forever.
